I can’t believe we are already 2 weeks into the new year! This was Leila’s first New Year celebration, and although she can’t make her own New Year resolutions, we made some family resolutions that include her. Today I am partnering with Gerber® Good Start® to share our #FormulaForHappiness going into the New Year. Read about our family New Year resolutions below.
The #formulaforhappiness initiative by Gerber® celebrates their all new Non-GMO (not made with genetically engineered ingredients) infant nutrition line. There is currently no strong evidence to believe Non-GMO products are healthier than others, but Gerber® made this change in their Infant Formula line to meet the evolving preference of formula-using parents.
So here they are, our three family New Year resolutions and #formulaforhappiess for the New Year!
1) Eat healthier
I’m sure this is one that everyone says every year, because it is so important! With our busy schedules, it is easy to eat out or cook frozen/packaged foods, but starting a new year is a good time to reflect on the importance of eating healthy. Leila starting eating solids, which has been such an exciting and fun experience. It is really important to us to give her a great start with her nutrition and make sure she is exposed to a variety of healthy foods early on. For me and Fabi, we want to eat more fruits and vegetables, and less meats and fatty foods. So far we have been doing great!!
2) Exercise regularly
I am sure you have heard the saying, if you don’t plan, you are planning to fail! This is true when it comes to getting regular exercise. We both have busy schedules, and we decided the only way we will make sure we exercise regularly is if we block time on the calendar. For Leila, we make sure she has plenty of “floor time.” This helped her build the strength and muscles she needed to reach new milestones. She recently just started crawling!
3) Good sleep habits
I noticed when I work right up until bedtime on my laptop, my sleep is not as good compared to nights where I dim the lights, make some tea, and listen to some calm music. We realized the importance of a healthy bedtime routine with Leila, and now every night we dim the lights for her, play some relaxing music, and create a calm sleeping environment for her to go to sleep.
We feel it is so important to create healthy habits early, and I hope she will benefit from them for her whole life!
