Pineapple Berry Smoothie

Today I have a really busy day at Genentech in South San Francisco, a leading biotechnology company, so I won’t have time to eat my daily fruit servings. This morning I decided to make a pineapple berry smoothie to use up some fruit I have in my refrigerator. Its fast and wakes you up in the morning almost as good as that cup of coffee (side note: I’m on day 2 of quitting and so far so good!). The fresh pineapple in this recipe really gives it a fresh taste. If you don’t like saving some for later, cut this recipe in half to make just enough for one glass.

Makes two 16oz glasses.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup raspberries
  • 1/4 cup blackberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped pineapple
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • Ice if desired

Throw all of the ingredients in a blender and blend on high until everything is mixed well.
